Grading is creating a designed surface elevation by removing or adding soil, gravel or other structural materials. The process of grading is used for a variety of construction projects. The grading process is achieved utilizing some of the following resources - grade lasers, surveyor, grade pins and stakes, structural soil import, skilled labor, and GPS guided excavation equipment.

 

During rough grading the shape, soil composition and drainage can be established. After the rough grade is complete a finish grade is likely required for grass, pavers or concrete preparation.
